As your Executive Minister, I ask that you join with me, your ABCO Board of Ministries, your Region Staff and each other in a season of prayer, reflection and spiritual renewal throughout this year. The American Baptist Churches of Oregon region is at a crossroads – a defining time – in its ministries and mission for Jesus Christ.

Your Vibrant Life Region works with all our American Baptist family to provide the best possible witness for Jesus Christ in our communities and around the world. Now, it is time to move the Region forward in a faithful following of the mind of God. It is clear to many of us that there are three priorities in a Vibrant Life Region:

• Camping Ministries
• New Church Mission Planting
• Revitalization of existing congregations

There are amazing stories already in those three categories. But God has more for us to do! Upon the approval of the Board of Ministries, ABCO is beginning a capital campaign to raise funds for these three vital aspects of our ministry together. You will receive more information about the campaign.

In the meantime, will you earnestly pray that God will direct our hearts and minds as we move forward with the campaign? Will you pray that God’s American Baptist people will step up to the challenge? Will you pray that God’s Holy Spirit will guide the entire process? God’s hand will move, and we will see the shadow of it.
